Citrix Launches MCP Gateway to Secure Enterprise AI Agents

Help Net Security, Thursday, July 9th, 2026

Citrix adds MCP Gateway to NetScaler to govern and secure enterprise AI agent traffic.

Citrix has introduced MCP Gateway functionality within its NetScaler platform to let enterprises securely route, govern, and observe agent traffic to backend Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.

NetScaler now provides centralized authentication, granular access controls, and unified visibility for both agent and LLM traffic through a single dashboard. It supports multi-step agent workflows with session persistence and content-switching-based model routing with token-level usage tracking.

Citrix says its single-pass architecture minimizes latency for high-volume AI workloads and adds no extra licensing cost for certain license types, having validated the capabilities via its internal AI assistant, Aidrien.
