OpenAI launches ChatGPT Work, a GPT-5.6-powered agent that completes multi-hour tasks and produces finished deliverables.
OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Work, an agent inside ChatGPT designed to take on ambitious, multi-step projects. Powered by GPT-5.6 and built with Codex technology, it gathers context across a user's connected apps and files to create finished materials like sheets, slides, docs, and web apps.
It can stay with complex projects for hours by breaking them into smaller steps and completing them independently.
The agent works across web, mobile, and desktop, first rolling out to the Mac and Windows apps for all user tiers with web to follow.
