Imperial College London modernized its dementia research data platform on Databricks, cutting integration time from months to weeks.
Imperial College London's Care Research and Technology Centre modernized its dementia research infrastructure with a scalable platform built on Databricks and Delta Lake.
The new architecture separates operational and analytical workloads, letting researchers integrate IoT sensor data from patient homes alongside clinical records.
By adding unified governance through Unity Catalog and dashboards for non-technical stakeholders, the team cut new data source integration from six months to one month and sped model development. The work has already provided clinical insights for over 580 individuals living with dementia.
