When Sarah Aerni successfully trained an AI model to correctly label worm cells for her dissertation, she realized two things.
First, that it's really exciting when a model works precisely as it's supposed to, and second, that an AI model should solve a clear problem. For example: no human should have to hand label 959 worm cells in microscopic images.
