Microsoft announces Hardware Audit Logging for Azure Cloud HSM, collecting audit records generated by the HSM itself for compliance and forensics.
Regulated organizations want trusted evidence of which authenticated users performed management operations on their hardware security modules, what they did and when.
Hardware Audit Logging sources records directly from the HSM for supported management operations, giving evidence tied to the device performing protected operations rather than only platform or application logs.
Relevant events include authentication, user changes, policy updates, backup operations and key lifecycle activity.
Security, compliance and operations teams can use the records for monitoring, compliance reporting and forensic investigations.
