Accenture: AI Agents Are Sifting Through Applicants

The Register, Friday, October 30th, 2026

Accenture uses AI agents to screen resumes and schedule interviews, while humans make the final hiring decisions, executives said.

At its investor day, Accenture said it uses agents in a recruiting setup it calls frictionless recruiting to screen resumes, schedule interviews and run skills assessments, with a human always making the hire decision.

HR chief Kate Clifford claimed hiring time fell 28 percent and candidate quality rose 30 percent.

She also said agents cut the time for entry-level hires to become productive from six months to six weeks.

A February memo told senior staff that promotion to top roles requires regular AI tool adoption, and usage is tracked.
