The CISO's AI Priority List: What Changes and What Doesn't

Solutions Review, Saturday, October 31st, 2026

Gigamon CISO Grant Yacomeni argues AI calls for stronger governance and visibility, but not a new security playbook or neglected basics.

This is a contributed piece by Grant Yacomeni, CISO at Gigamon, first published in Solutions Review's Insight Jam community.

He argues that AI agents and AI-enabled attackers change the environment but not the fundamentals, citing Gigamon survey data that 41 percent of organizations faced AI-involved external attacks in the past year.

He urges CISOs to turn AI policy into enforced governance with clear ownership and right-sized access, and to close visibility gaps so teams can reconstruct an agent's activity from end to end.

He also warns against letting AI distract from patching, configuration management and lessons-learned reviews.
