The Best Identity Security Vendors for AI Agents

Kovrr, Thursday, October 29th, 2026

Kovrr argues the key test for AI agent identity security vendors is what happens to an agent when the engineer who built it leaves.

The post says major identity vendors all claim first-class agent identities, scoped permissions and governance, but joiner-mover-leaver processes act on people, so agents are invisible when their builder is deprovisioned.

Departure either breaks an agent that used the engineer's credential or leaves an orphaned agent with standing access.

It proposes asking whether the agent is an object in the leaver workflow and whether an agent can have an owner distinct from its builder, and suggests testing by running a test agent's creator through offboarding.

It then compares vendors by heritage, such as SailPoint's identity governance and CyberArk's short-lived secrets.
