Google Cloud spend caps on Budgets are generally available, with a new API, live cost reports and automated guardrails.
Spend caps protect workloads from runaway costs without deleting resources.
The GA release adds a spend caps API, reachable from the Cloud Billing Budgets API, to programmatically apply, lift, update or delete caps, for instance on every new sandbox project.
Spend caps for AI services trigger within minutes using estimated live costs, which now appear in Cost Reports so teams can see why and when a limit was breached.
The update followed feedback from the earlier preview.
