Couchbase Extends Scope and Reach of Data Plane for AI

Techstrong.ai, Tuesday, October 20th, 2026

Couchbase adds vector search, semantic caching, Amazon Bedrock integration and managed MCP and agent memory services for AI agents.

At Couchbase Catalyst 2026, Couchbase added vector search, semantic caching and Amazon Bedrock integration to its database, plus a managed Model Context Protocol server and serverless Agent Memory services that give agents persistent access to profiles, conversation history and vectorized facts across sessions.

The database now unifies key-value, SQL, full-text, vector search and real-time columnar analytics on one in-memory JSON data set, so agents can get operational and historical context in one call.

Couchbase's Tim Finley says this cuts AI infrastructure cost, and support for Microsoft and Google clouds is planned alongside AWS.
