Darktrace looks at an October 2026 cyberattack that reportedly hit refrigeration systems at hundreds of French supermarkets, causing losses of several million euros.
Attackers reportedly accessed internet-connected controllers and forced units to extreme temperatures.
The access method is unconfirmed but may have involved weak credentials, and Darktrace notes a 2025 Danfoss AK-SM vulnerability.
It warns that default credentials, outdated firmware and exposed admin interfaces leave many industrial control systems at risk.
