AMD and Intel Collaborate to Simplify AI Development on x86 CPUs With PyTorch
AMD, Tuesday, October 20th, 2026
AMD and Intel align on oneDNN as the default x86 acceleration library in PyTorch, and AMD joins the UXL Foundation as a steering member.
AMD and Intel announced a collaboration to combine their x86 CPU optimization work for PyTorch in oneDNN, an open-source deep learning library governed by the Unified Acceleration (UXL) Foundation.
The move, recommended by the x86 Ecosystem Advisory Group, aims to give developers a common software path for optimized AI workloads on AMD and Intel CPUs.
AMD is integrating its ZenDNN optimizations into oneDNN.
It has also joined the UXL Foundation as a steering member.
