Defenders Reluctant to Deploy Agentic AI as a Cybersecurity Tool

Flashpoint survey finds only a quarter of security teams actively use agentic AI in defense, citing trust concerns.
Flashpoint's Enterprise Threat Intelligence Report 2026 found that just 25% of cybersecurity teams actively use agentic AI tools in their defense strategy.
Another 20% run closed pilots, 35% are examining adoption within 12 to 24 months and 20% have no plans.
Teams using agents apply them to information retrieval, alert prioritization, blocking IP addresses, updating blocklists and monitoring traffic.
Many remain wary of granting agents decision-making authority, and practitioners warn that an agent that is confidently wrong is worse than no agent.
