How to Lower Android Development Costs by Removing Hardware from the Critical Path

Canonical argues most Android build, test and debug work can run without physical devices to cut costs.
Canonical says Android development costs rise when needed devices are in use, misconfigured or in another lab, adding procurement, provisioning, maintenance and lost engineering time.
Physical hardware is still needed to validate sensors, peripherals, real performance and user experience, but building Android, testing apps, reproducing bugs and running regression tests do not require a physical device.
The post makes the case for moving those workloads to virtual Android environments.
