How Platform Teams Can Ship Telecom APIs Without Carrier-Specific Chaos

Telecom features like eSIM activation or number reservation look simple in demos but break in production, as activations stay pending, webhooks arrive twice or out of order, retries create duplicates and usage data lags.

Telecom resources are long-lived and asynchronous, creating or deleting them can trigger costs, regulatory duties and billing, and GSMA Open Gateway and CAMARA standardize APIs but not every operational difference.

Platform teams should offer a stable internal contract, explicit lifecycle states and built-in operational controls.
