IBM Advances to Stage C of DARPA Quantum Benchmarking Initiative

IBM was selected for Stage C of DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Initiative evaluating paths to fault-tolerant quantum computers.
IBM has been selected for Stage C, the third phase of DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Initiative.
In this phase, independent experts will extensively test IBM's quantum hardware, technology, systems engineering and architecture to determine whether it can build a fault-tolerant quantum computer.
IBM Research Director Jay Gambetta said the step validates IBM's path, and the company expects to deliver its first fault-tolerant system in 2029.
