Dell introduces Dell Storage Performance Tool, an open-source benchmark for S3-compatible object storage under AI loads.
Dell argues that credible object storage benchmarks for AI must go beyond peak throughput to measure latency, concurrency, client utilization, distributed-client consistency, workload realism and repeatability.
Object storage now holds training data, model checkpoints, analytics datasets, backups and logs.
Dell Storage Performance Tool (Dell SPT) is an open-source tool for S3-compatible object storage that combines a task-oriented CLI, interactive terminal UI and containerized engine to run, monitor and document repeatable tests.
