MongoDB Accelerates and Scales Out Database, Launches Atlas Agent Engine

MongoDB 9.0 boosts query speed and throughput, Atlas Infinite disaggregates compute and storage, and Agent Engine ships.
Blocks & Files' Chris Mellor reports MongoDB has released version 9.0, with up to 35% faster find-one queries, 30% faster update-one queries, up to 2x throughput on large instances and 20% higher transactional throughput than 8.0.
It adds prefix, suffix and substring search on encrypted data and Intelligent Workload Management to protect overloaded clusters.
For its more than 70,000 Atlas customers, Atlas Infinite disaggregates compute and storage for elastic agentic workloads, and Atlas Agent Engine offers a modular path to put AI agents into production with Voyage AI-powered retrieval.
