Oktane 2026: Agentic AI Pushes Identity Beyond Access Control
theCUBE Research, Thursday, October 1st, 2026
Okta extends identity into governing AI agents, but theCUBE Research says its Blueprint leaves recovery unresolved.
theCUBE Research analyst Krista Case says Okta used Oktane 2026 to expand from access control to governing what AI agents do inside the business, through a Blueprint for the Secure Agentic Enterprise that asks where agents are, what they can do, what they are doing and how to respond.
The Blueprint addresses those questions through discovery, identity governance, Agent Gateway and token revocation, but Case notes it stops at response, leaving recovery to alliance partners.
One regulated asset manager found about 13,000 agents, only 1,000 valid, plus more than 500 MCP servers, showing the scale of the discovery problem.
