Red Hat outlines its migration toolkit and certified tools like Hystax Acura for moving VMs onto Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift.
Red Hat describes how organizations can move legacy virtual machines onto Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift, which runs virtualized and cloud-native workloads side by side under an OpenShift control plane, using a migration toolkit that automates migrations, including from live VMs, to cut downtime and make moves repeatable.
For larger transitions, certified partner tool Hystax Acura provides agentless, incremental live migration plus continuous replication and ransomware detection.
Cited examples include a payroll leader moving 9,000 VMs off VMware and legacy OpenStack and a security provider migrating more than 10,000 VMs in daily waves.
