No Window, No Warning: Why Security Has to Live in Every Layer

HPE, Monday, September 28th, 2026

HPE argues the vulnerability-to-exploit window has collapsed, so security must be built into every infrastructure layer.

HPE says the gap between a vulnerability being theorized and exploited has collapsed, citing its experience in Anthropic's Project Glasswing.

It describes building security into infrastructure, using live migration and live upgrades to patch without maintenance windows, and notes acquisitions such as Juniper, Axis Security, Zerto, Morpheus and OpsRamp strengthen different security layers.

The post launches a six-week Cybersecurity Awareness Month series covering critical infrastructure, resilience, agentic security, the network, post-quantum cryptography and sovereignty.
