Cloudflare Traces, now in open beta, shows how each request moves through security rules, cache, routing, Workers and origin.
Cloudflare introduced Cloudflare Traces in open beta, extending automatic tracing beyond Workers to the full request path.
A single trace can show security rules, transformations, cache decisions, routing, Worker execution and origin handling, and can continue into services running elsewhere.
Teams can set baseline sampling rates with Trace Rules overrides, propagate W3C traceparent headers, view timelines in the dashboard and export spans to any OTLP-compatible destination, which Cloudflare calls a long-term investment in OpenTelemetry.
