FC-SP-3 is the third generation of Fibre Channel security standards, built to protect storage networks against quantum computing threats.
It drops outdated cryptography like 3DES and SHA-1 in favor of post-quantum algorithms ML-KEM-1024 and ML-DSA-87 to meet CNSA 2.0 compliance.
Rather than requiring an infrastructure overhaul, FC-SP-3 enables autonomous in-flight encryption inside host bus adapters at line rate, letting organizations reach quantum-resistant security through normal hardware refresh cycles by 2030.
This directly counters "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks, making proactive adoption important for regulated, mission-critical environments.
