Unlock 3x QPS and Microsecond Latency with Memorystore for Valkey 9.1

Google Cloud released Memorystore for Valkey 9.1, delivering up to 3x QPS at microsecond latency versus Memorystore for Redis Cluster.
Google Cloud announced general availability of Memorystore for Valkey 9.1, which it says achieves up to 3x queries per second at microsecond latency compared to Memorystore for Redis Cluster.
Google has backed Valkey, the open-source, Linux Foundation-governed fork created after Redis Inc. changed its licensing in 2024, and says the project has since delivered major performance gains.
Version 9.1 replaces a static, round-robin, list-polling architecture for assigning client sockets to I/O threads with a lock-free, multi-queue messaging system, eliminating cross-thread CPU waste and enabling dynamic work-stealing across worker threads.
Google positions Valkey 9.1 as well suited to AI and microservices workloads needing both massive throughput and microsecond latency.
