Digital Realty will build a new subsea cable landing station at its LAX12 data center to boost Asia Pacific-North America connectivity.
Digital Realty announced plans to develop a new cable landing station at its LAX12 data center in Los Angeles, designed to give subsea cable operators a turnkey solution for landing and powering systems with direct access to terrestrial network interconnection.
The facility is expected to begin supporting cable systems in 2028. Once operational, it will give carriers, cloud providers, and content platforms additional routes between Asia Pacific and North America, strengthening connectivity across Digital Realty's broader Los Angeles data center footprint through closer integration of subsea and terrestrial infrastructure.
