Databricks launched Unity Gateway CLI so admins can centrally govern coding agents while developers switch between them with one command.
Databricks introduced the Unity Gateway CLI to let organizations adopt new AI coding models quickly while still governing access centrally.
Admins manage approved models, tools, MCP servers, skills, smart routing, and spending policies for coding agents in one place through Unity Gateway, then publish configurations that developers apply automatically.
Developers can launch any supported coding agent, such as with commands like 'ug claude' or 'ug codex,' and the CLI handles authentication and applies published settings before opening the agent's familiar interface. Databricks frames this as addressing the tension between standardizing on one provider and supporting many.
