This recap of a Broadcom webinar explains how VMware vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS), running natively in VMware Cloud Foundation, reduces Day 2 operational friction through two extension mechanisms: vSphere Supervisor Services, shared services like container registries running at the Supervisor Control Plane level, and Cluster Add-Ons, curated Carvel packages (and now Helm charts) that operators can declaratively deploy to workload clusters.
It highlights Harbor, an OCI registry running as a native Supervisor Service that connects to identity providers via LDAP or OIDC for access control. Harbor also pairs with tools like Trivy for automated vulnerability scanning of container images.
