Micron demonstrated what it calls the world's first 512GB DDR5 RDIMM, running on multiple server platforms at speeds up to 9,200 MT/s.
StorageReview notes the module draws roughly 16W, which matters because capacity-per-watt is becoming the binding constraint in AI inference servers that need enormous host memory pools.
At that density a dual-socket server can carry about 12TB of DRAM. Both AMD and Intel are validating the part for their next-generation platforms, but Micron is guiding volume production only for the second half of 2027.
