What If Cooling Wasn't a Single Product, but a Complete Thermal Chain?

Vertiv, Monday, September 7th, 2026

Vertiv outlines the data center thermal chain, from rack heat capture to facility heat rejection and reuse for AI loads.

With AI racks drawing 150 kW or more versus under 10 kW for traditional servers, Vertiv argues cooling must be planned as an integrated thermal chain rather than individual products.

The chain spans server and rack heat collection via rear-door heat exchangers, direct-to-chip and immersion cooling; row and room collection with CRACs, CRAHs, CDUs and thermal walls; and facility heat rejection, economization and heat reuse.

The piece also covers monitoring, controls, predictive analytics and lifecycle services, promoting Vertiv's thermal chain e-book.
