Amazon Targets Data-Intensive Workloads with Graviton5-Powered R9g and R9gd Instances

AWS launches memory-optimized R9g and R9gd instances on Graviton5 for in-memory databases, analytics and web services.
AWS has launched memory-optimized R9g and R9gd EC2 instances powered by its Graviton5 processors, following earlier M9g and C9g families. Graviton5 offers up to 25% better compute performance, 30% faster database processing, DDR5-8800 memory and a five-times-larger L3 cache than Graviton4.
The instances come in 11 sizes up to 192 vCPUs and 1,536 GiB of memory, with up to 100 Gbps networking and 72 Gbps EBS bandwidth. R9gd adds up to 11.4 TB of local NVMe storage, and both use the AWS Nitro System with the Nitro Isolation Engine.
