Sysdig says human-speed defenses fail against AI-driven attacks and makes stateful detections central to runtime security.
Sysdig points to a stark change in early 2026, when attacks such as React2Shell began landing only hours after a vulnerability was disclosed, a pattern its Threat Research Team clocked repeatedly against AI infrastructure tools.
Attacks are also becoming more automated and in some cases AI-driven end to end: the team observed AI-assisted intrusions achieving admin access in eight minutes and stealing credentials in three.
Sysdig TRT also reported JADEPUFFER, which it describes as the first agentic ransomware operation to autonomously run a destructive database extortion playbook. The post argues defenses built for human speed will not hold and positions stateful detections as an essential runtime security tool.
