Zero Trust or Bust: Winning Compliance in an AI-Driven Multicloud World
Zscaler, Tuesday, August 25th, 2026
Zscaler argues AI and multicloud have broken the annual documentation model of regulatory compliance.
Zscaler argues that the compliance problem is not new but the environment it operates in has changed fundamentally. Not long ago, regulatory compliance was largely a documentation exercise: map controls to a framework such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2 or GDPR, run an annual audit and file the results.
That model is broken, and the post identifies two culprits every organization has embraced. The average enterprise now runs workloads across 2.1 public cloud providers and manages 85 different SaaS applications, an estate that changes faster than any annual assessment can describe.
The post makes the case for zero trust as the compliance foundation in that environment.
