AWS Open Sources Dogwood Language for Programmatically Governing AI Agents

AWS releases Dogwood, an open source policy language for enforcing governance rules over AI agent actions.
AWS has open sourced Dogwood, a policy language designed to govern AI agents by enforcing rules across sequences of actions rather than evaluating individual requests.
The temporal logic-based tool lets organizations require approvals, enforce spending limits and restrict agent behavior after access to sensitive data.
Unlike Cedar, which evaluates authorization requests in isolation, Dogwood evaluates sequences of current and recent events. That design suits the compounding risks inherent in agentic AI systems.
