Akamai details Q2 2026 platform upgrades across networking, identity, Kubernetes, storage and observability.
Akamai published its periodic Akamai Cloud update covering enhancements shipped across the platform rather than standalone new services. Networking gained custom IPv4 ranges and firewall templates, while identity management added single sign-on and passwordless provisioning.
Observability improvements include Cloud Pulse audit logs and alerts, and Kubernetes support moved to version 1.34 with automatic resource allocation. Storage upgrades covered the Tokyo Object Storage endpoint and PostgreSQL connection pooling.
Akamai frames the release around the argument that production AI depends on networking, identity, Kubernetes, storage and observability working together as one platform rather than on compute alone.
