Cursor's new builds feature pre-prepares development environments so cloud agents boot up to 3x faster.
Cursor introduced builds, ready-to-use copies of a team's development environment prepared continuously in the background at no additional cost.
Previously every cloud agent session booted a machine, cloned repositories and ran the install script just in time, taking several minutes on large repos.
With builds, agents boot into an environment that already has repos cloned and dependencies installed, cutting time to a response by up to 3x. Cursor runs a new build hourly and keeps warm copies so agents fork a live machine rather than restoring from disk.
If a bad commit breaks the environment, the broken build never becomes active and agents keep using the last successful one.
