A hypervisor, also known as a virtual machine monitor (VMM), is a type of software used to create and run virtual machines. There are two main types of hypervisors with a wide range of use cases, including consolidating servers by moving workloads to virtual machines, creating isolated environments for testing and development, and facilitating remote desktop access.
